Chad's Project

Todd has been helping Chad finish the trash can that he started building last semester in shop. I am so glad because it is almost finished and that bit of help from Todd seems like it is giving Chad some much needed motivation. Here is the progress so far:

Craft Projects

The long Memorial weekend seemed like a great time for craft projects. We made a trip to Michael's on Saturday and Evan got a helicopter model kit. He couldn't wait to put it together, but within 15 minutes complained that the kit didn't include all of the pieces. Todd came to the rescue, found the missing pieces and helped him put it together.

The finished product turned out well and Evan had a lot of fun making it.

He then decided that he wanted to make some of his own Pokemon cards. He found a website that let's you upload a photo and then make and print the cards out. He attached a real Pokemon card to the back, so the finished product looks a lot like the real thing. He has been busy making cards ever since.

Chad took a shop class at school this semester and picked a trash can as his project. He didn't quite finish it before school let out. It still needs a back to be attached and to be stained and varnished. It does look good so far, so I hope he stays motivated and finishes it.

Chad's Car

One of Chad's classes this semester is shop. He is learning all about designing projects and using wood working tools. His most recent project was making a wooden car. Here he is showing off his creation.

Evan's Activities

Evan is very active and always on the move. This weekend he did a little crafting. He had a wooden alligator that needed painting. He love to paint so he was very excited about that project.


His friend from next door is moving, so they played together as much as possible this weekend. Lots of football, trampoline jumping, lizard finding and treasure digging were all on the agenda.

Chad's New Table

Chad has been wanting a table for his bedside forever. Todd finally broke down and bought him one. Chad put it together himself and was very proud of his project. Way to go Chad!

Brothers Working Together

One of Evan's homework assignments yesterday was to invent a new compound word and then come up with a convincing argument of why it should be included in the dictionary. His word was shindell (shin + dell). The definition of shindell is the little bits of food that are left in your teeth after you eat. For example, "You may want to look in the mirror when you go to the bathroom because you have shindell."

I printed out some pictures of teeth and Evan made a poster to help convince the dictionary representative that his word really belongs in the dictionary. He ran into some problems with the glue that we have, so Chad pitched in right away and helped him complete his poster. I love it when the boys help each other out. Way to go!
